Commemorations for the year 2014-15 :(Initiated in the calendar year 2014 and continued in calendar year 2015)

  • Centenary of Komagata Maru incident was commemorated from 29.9.2014 to 29.9.2015.
  • Birth centenary of Begum Akhtar was commemorated from 7.10.2014 to 7.10.2015.
  • 125th birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was commemorated from 14.11.2014 to 14.11.2015.

    • Commemorations for the year 2015-16 : (Initiated in the calendar year 2015 and continued in calendar year 2016)

  • Birth centenary of Rani Gaidinliu was commemorated from 26.1.2015 to 26.1.2016.
  • 200th birth anniversary of Tatya Tope: As part of Commemoration, Ministry of Culture with the support of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library organized a Special Lecture and a National Conference in Delhi.
  • 150th birth anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai Celebrations were made from 28th January 2015 to 28th January 2016.
  • 475th Birth Anniversary of Maharana Pratap,: Ministry released a Commemorative coin of Rs. 100/- and a Circulation coin of Rs. 10/- in New Delhi on 9th May 2016.
  • 125th birth anniversary of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Exhibition & Programme under the commemoration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan was held on 20th May, 2016 at NMML, Teen Murti House, New Delhi.
  • 500th Anniversary of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’scoming to Vrindavan: Celebrations were done from November, 2015 to November, 2016. 2016-17
  • Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of India’s Independence
  • Birth Centenary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya : ( 25- 9-2016 – 31-03-2018)
  • Birth centenary of Smt. M S Subbulakshmi: (16 9.2016-16.9.2017)
  • Birth Centenary of Amritlal Nagar: ( 17.8.2016-17.8.2017)
  • Birth Centenary of Nanaji Deshmukh : (11.102016-11.10.2017)
  • 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Abhedananda: (2.10.2016-2.10.2017)
  • 350th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singhji: (22.12.2016 – 31.04.2018)

    • Commemorations during the year 2017:
    Special Cell deals with commemoration of centenary and special anniversaries such as 125th/150th/175th etc. of eminent personalities and events of historical importance to the country. The commemoration starts of completion of 100/125/150 etc. years and continue for a period of one year. Therefore, commemorations which started in 2016 continued during the year 2017 and those started in 2017 are continuing in the year 2018. Commemoration for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 are as under:

  • The Centenary of Champaran Satyagraha: Celebrations were held from April, 2017 to April, 2018.
  • Commemoration of Centenary of Sabarmati Ashram. Inaugural function was organised by the State Government of Gujarat in Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmadabad on 29th June, 2017.
  • 1000th Birth Anniversary of Saint Ramanujacharyaji Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi released commemorative Postage Stamp in the Memory of Saint Ramanujacharya on 01 May 20l7.
  • 200th birth anniversary of Sri Satguru Ram Singhji: (February, 2017 to February' 2019)
  • 200th Anniversary of Uprising of Soldiers led by Buxi Jagabandhu of Kordha in Odisha: (March 2017 to March 2018)

    • National Committees have been constituted for Pt. Deendayal and Guru Gobind Singh commemorations under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Prime Minister. Executive Committees have also been constituted for both these commemorations under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Home Minister .

    National Implementation Committees (NIC) headed by Hon’ble Home Minister have been constituted for all other commemorations.

    Commemorations for the year 2018-19 : (Initiated in the calendar year 2018 and continued in calendar year 2019)

  • Commemorative coin in honour of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released a commemorative coin in honour of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
  • Commemoration of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Sindhia: The Government of India celebrated the birth centenary of Smt. Vijaya Raje Scindia, Rajmata of Gwalior, from 11 October 2018 to 11 October 2019.
  • 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Celebrations are being held for a period of 2 years across the globe starting from 2.10.2018.
  • 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev JI Government of India celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji from November, 2018 to November, 2019 both at national as well as international level.
  • Centenary of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre Centenary of Jallianwala Bagh massacre commemorated from 13.4.2019 to 13.4.2020.

    • Commemorations for the year 2019-21 : (Initiated in the calendar year 2019 and continued in calendar year 2021)

  • Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava (12 Mar 2021 to 15 Aug 2023).
  • 125th Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (23rd January, 2021 to 23rd January, 2023)
  • 400th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (21st April, 2021 to 21st April, 2022)
  • 150th birth anniversary of Shri Aurobindo (15th August, 2022- 15th August 2023).
  • 250th birth anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy (22nd May, 2022 to 22nd May, 2023)
  • Birth Centenary of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi (4th February, 2022 to 4th February, 2023)
  • Birth Centenary of Sh. Dattopant Thengdi (10th November, 2020 to 10th November, 2021)
  • 150th birth anniversary of Jain Acharya Shri Vijayballabh Sureshwar Ji (26th October, 2020 to 26th October, 2022)
  • 125th Anniversary/Founding year of Ramakrishna Math & Mission (1st May, 2022 to 1st May, 2023)
  • 644th Birth Anniversary of Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidasji (27th Feb., 2021 to 31st Dec., 2022)
  • 150th Birth Anniversary of Shri V.O. Chidambaram Pillai, a prominent lawyer and political personality in 19th century from Ottapidaram, Tamil Nadu (5th September, 2022 to 5th September, 2023)
  • 125th Birth Anniversary of Sh. Alluri Sitaram Raju(4th July, 2022 to 4th July, 2023)
  • Birth Centenary of Ghantasala Venkateswararao (4th Dec., 2022 to 4th Dec., 2023)
