Report on Inaugural Function of Rainbow (Kamanabillu) (National Tribal & Folk Painting Work Shop)

The workshop on Tribal and Folk Paintings was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Smt. C. Shikha, Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, and Mysore on 8th June, 2015
Sh. J. Vijay Mohan, Officer-In-Charge, Mysore has welcomed the Chief Guest and she was introduced by Sh. V. Ashok Vardhan, Museum Associate to the artisans and to the public. After the inauguration, the Chief Guest of the function has visited to every stall of the work shop and interacted with the artisans. Later, she was also visited the galleries of present North-Eastern thematic exhibition.
About 40 artisans are attending the work shop from tribal and folk communities of various states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and West Bengal. The work shop is open for 05 days from 08th to 12th at 10.00 AM to 06.00 P.M. Besides the work shop, there will be cultural activities from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and North-Eastern States from 6.30P.M onwards.
